Designing the quiet room around a chamber

A chamber takes up visual weight in a room. The suites that feel calm have usually solved three things first: a matte floor, a single warm light temperature and a low side surface that keeps the space from becoming a corridor.
Match the light, not the wall
Warm light on brushed metal reads as furniture; cool light reads as equipment. In practice, one 2700 K source aimed at the shell is enough, with no second colour temperature in the same sightline.
If the room is shared with other treatments, place the chamber against the longest uninterrupted wall and keep the entry clear. The rest of the layout can then be arranged around it rather than fighting it.
